Contemporary collectible Red Wing stoneware cookie jar is in great condition, one small chip on the edge of lid. Hand painted red apple on the front. This piece was made by the new owner of the Red Wing company.

History Of Red Wing Pottery: Red Wing Stoneware Company started on Feb. 1, 1877, and produced stoneware pottery. By 1878, the company becoming well known for producing "useful" & beautiful pottery wares. In 1967, Red Wing Potteries closed its production plant. In 1984, John Falconer acquired the records, name & legal rights of the Red Wing Stoneware Company. And then in 1988, Tom Woodruff purchased the Red Wing Stoneware Company.
